The Biography & Work of:
Jacqueline Myers-Cho
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Web: www.flickr.com/photos/57143672@N00/
Bio: I am an artist and art teacher, which represents two of my life-time passion: art and teaching. I may be classified as a painter, yet my artistic interests go beyond painting. In fact, my artistic career started as a costume designer for Yale Repertory Theater. Despite having enjoyed my job and company there very much, I was driven by inner urge to paint, and the urge brought me to California, New Mexico, Maui, and even to seemingly far-from-artistic places such as Iowa, Minnesota, and South Korea. And coming full circle, I live now in Los Angeles. Through the journey, I painted and painted and painted, dotted by occasional shows and "art parties." My works have been bought by diverse clientele, ending up not only in the U.S. but Scandinavia, Australia, Italy, and South Korea. Specifically, you can find my works at either Mindful Nest gallery in Burbank/Santa Monica, CA, or Three Ravens gallery in Ardmore, PA.

Pursuing the other side of my passion, I have been teaching children art "how to draw realistically and paint in oil" as a program director of Mission Renaissance, a private art school headquartered in Glendale, CA, for four years. It is said that teaching is the best of learning, and I completely agree; teaching children not only gives me fulfilling satisfaction but matures me as an artist as well.

I am reluctant to translate my work in words because I believe art is essentially ineffable, but risking oversimplification, I will say that simplicity and playfulness are two targets I set in my artistic pursuit.
