The Biography & Work of:
Dan Heskamp
Location: Chicago, IL
Web: www.danheskamp.com
Bio: Dan is from the Chicagoland area where he received his Bachelor of Fine Art from Northern Illinois University in 2012 and his Masters of Fine Art from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2016. His current studies are focused in printmaking, photography and sculpture.

Dan's work is a way to show appreciation for the lives of animals that exist beyond our domesticated environments; those considered insignificant, forgotten or discarded. Often overlooked are the ways we memorialize the creatures with whom we share our homes, neighborhoods and planet. These prints provide a space to acknowledge and revere their existence. This project is intended to shed light on a social issue that has persisted throughout all of human history. Heskamp observes the hierarchy of speciesism taking place in the United States.
